Why master Microsoft Excel?

Have you ever felt mildly embarrassed as a colleague watches you move inelegantly around your spreadsheet? Or have you had to bite your tongue whilst claiming to be ‘an expert in Microsoft Excel’ at a job interview? And how many times have you thought, “There must be a quicker way than this".
The problem of course is time. There’s never enough time to learn right now; we meet today’s deadline and resolve to learn Excel ‘later'.
Now imagine feeling a sense of mastery as you open Excel, confident in your own ability to put together a decent spreadsheet within a few minutes. Your credibility in the office gets a boost and your time and energy is released to concentrate on your real job. You’ll wonder why it’s taken so long to learn one of the tools of your trade.
